    This OID is used as the root of an arc that organisations can use to issue accession numbers in accordance with the DICOM standard. The OID is never used directly – instead, the 16 digit HPIO is appended to the OID, like so: 1.2.36.1.2001.1005.53.[HPIO], where it goes in the CDA id root to identify accession numbers issued by that organization (which goes in the id extension).
