    This variable controls the default encapsulation method
    used by this device, when transmitting via the UDP/IP
    protocol.
    This default encapsulation method is only used when there
    is no other way to know which encapsulation method the
    receiving host understands.
    NOTE: On TokenRing devices only snap(3) works.
    ON EtherNet devices only ethernet(1) and snap(3)
    works.
